Let the one in least fear lead.
Alan Cohen in Relax Into Wealth, p.152
We tell lies when we are afraid… afraid of what we don’t know, afraid of what others will think, afraid of what will be found out about us. But every time we tell a lie, the thing that we fear grows stronger.
We must build dikes of courage to hold back the flood of fear.
Martin Luther King, Jr
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.
We must never be afraid to be a sign of contradiction for the world.
We may appear to be mean but we’re really only frightened.
Respect all. Fear none.
How did the rose ever open its heart and give to this world all of its beauty? It felt the encouragement of Light against its being; otherwise we all remain too frightened.
You don’t experience anxiety unless you’re attached to a thought that isn’t true for you. It’s that simple.
We would never move forward in the face of negative emotion. There are many people who would teach you otherwise. They say you’ve got to face fear to get over it. And all they do is desensitize themselves to the point that they get themselves into situations where they have no idea what’s going on, and the end of them comes rather abruptly… And then everyone calls them brave.
Abraham-Hicks, from the workshop in San Diego, CA on Saturday, February 7, 2004
I think the fear of being seen as childish or crazy severely limits our enjoyment of the world around us, thus inducing a state of boredom that in turn gives rise to much of the stupidity and meanness that oftem seem to epitomize the human condtion. In fact, these ills merely signify that the dues we pay for adult respectability are far too high, and bring some ‘benefits’ of questionable value.

Complaining advertizes your fears.
from Fearless Living, by Rhonda Britten
You gain strength, courage, and confidence in every experience in which you stop and look fear in the face. You must do the thing you cannot do.
Each precious moment of your life in which you are frozen with fear is a moment when you are not being all you can be. In the end, that hurts more than anything. Succeeding or failing does not determine if we are surviving or living. Rather it is in our ability to reach beyond our present self-imposed definition of who we are, and to risk becoming more, that we are able to feel fully alive.
from Fearless Loving: 8 Simple Truths That Will Change the Way You Date, Mate and Relate, by Rhonda Britten
Do what you fear and your fear will die.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Do you remember the things you were worrying about a year ago? How did they work out? Didn't you waste a lot of fruitless energy on account of most of them? Didn't most of them turn out all right after all?
Dale Carnegie (1888-1955) American public speaker and author
Many of our fears are tissue paper thin, and a single courageous step would carry us clear through them.
Brendan Francis [Behan] (1923-1964) Irish author
It is better by noble boldness to run the risk of being subject to half the evils we anticipate than to remain in cowardly listlessness for fear of what might happen.
Herodotus (485 – 425 BC) Greek historian
When you do not realize that you are one with the river, or one with the universe, you have fear. Whether it is separated into drops or not, water is water. Our life and death are the same thing. When we realize this fact, we have no fear of death anymore.
Fear is the opportunity for courage, not proof of cowardice.
